Former Delhi cricketer Sanjay Doval died, suffering from Corona

A source close to Sanjay Doval’s family gave this information. Doval was 53 years old and was living with his wife and two sons. Sanjay Doval died on Monday morning due to a Coronavirus infection.

A source close to Sanjay Doval’s family gave this information. Elder son Siddhant plays first-class cricket for Rajasthan and younger son Ekkash is in Delhi’s Under 23 team.

A DDCA official said, ‘Doval had symptoms of a coronavirus infection and was first admitted to a hospital in Bahadurgarh. He was found positive in the examination there. After that, when the situation deteriorated, he was admitted to a hospital in Dwarka. He was also given plasma therapy in Delhi but no effect.

Doval, a known face on the Ferozeshah Kotla ground not known as Arun Jaitely Stadium, was very popular among Delhi cricketers Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Mithun Manhas. He also played cricket for the Sonnet Club. Gambhir and Manhas also appealed for plasma donation via Twitter.

The donor was arranged by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Dilip Pandey. Doval started coaching junior cricketers after playing for Air India. Former BCCI president CK Khanna, veteran players from Delhi Madan Lal and Manhas have mourned his death.
