Earlier, a clinic in the three-story building in the Pitampura area of the national capital on Sunday caught fire. Five women were rescued in this incident. This information was given by an officer of the Delhi Fire Service.
He said that no casualties were reported in the incident. The fire department said that it received information about the incident at around 11 am, after which seven fire engines were sent to the spot.
Delhi Fire Services Director Atul Garg said that one woman has been rescued from the clinic located in the basement of the building while four other women have been rescued from the house on the second floor.
He said that the fire in the clinic also engulfed the other floors of the building. The cause of the fire is being ascertained. The official said that the woman rescued from the clinic has been identified as Swati (27).
Four other women have been identified as Lakshmi Kansal (52), their two daughters Paridhi Kansal (25) and Malika Kansal (23) and one of their relatives Asha Rani.
