The Delhi Jal Board has ordered the engineering, revenue department, and local zonal offices to take strict action on it, so now a waste of water can result in a fine of Rs 2000 for the first time. If not improved even after this, the Jal Board will fine Rs 500 per day.
At the same time, in view of strictness, the team of officials of Engineering, Revenue Department, and Vigilance Branch of Delhi Jal Board will conduct surprise inspections when water comes into the colonies. During this, if the waterfalls from someone’s tank, then the fine will be imposed. Apart from this, fines will also be imposed on cleaning the car using water used in drinking water or used in gardening.
A complaint can be made on number 1916
According to the officials of the Water Board, there is also a provision in this that action will be taken even if the neighbor also sends a picture of the falling water. Complaints can also be made by calling Jal Board’s Central Call Center 1916.
Delhi requires around 1200 MGD of water, while the Jal Board supplies around 935 MGD of water per day. In this way, there is a shortage of about 265 MGD water. People also use water board water for cleaning vehicles and gardening. The Water Board decided last year to pay a fine on the misuse of drinking water.
The order issued by the Water Board on July 15 said that the previous order did not take serious action, but now the officials will inspect the area at the time of arrival of water in various colonies. The Executive Engineers and local officials of the respective zones will send action report headquarters every week.
