A melee broke out between two soldiers late Friday night at Seemapuri police station in Shahdara district. During the brawl, one soldier shot the other soldier from his service pistol. As soon as hearing the bullet, there was a stir in the police station.
The bullet hit the chest of soldier Amod Bhadana (31). He was rushed to the nearby Swami Dayanand Hospital, from where he was referred to the AIIMS Trauma Center. His condition remains critical. Police sources say that Ravindra had no beat in the police station. He used to interfere in Amod’s beat, which Amod did not like.
District Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Sharma said that a case of attempt to murder has been registered and the accused soldier Ravindra Nagar (33) has been arrested. The matter is being investigated after questioning him.
According to the senior police officers of the district, the constable Amod Bhadana, who hails from Hapur, UP, is posted at Seemapuri police station and lives in the barracks. At the same time, the accused sepoy Ravindra Nagar, resident of Dujana, Jhajjar, Haryana, is also posted in Seemapuri police station.
Amod has got a beat in the area, while Ravindra had a general duty. Sources say that Ravindra used to interfere in Amod’s beat, which Amod did not like. There was a tension between the two on this matter. At around 10.30 pm, Amod came to the mess room on the first floor of the dinner station to do his beat duty.
Meanwhile, Ravindra also reached there. At the same time, both of them started getting upset. During the conversation, Ravindra suddenly pulled out his service pistol and opened fire on Amod. The bullet hit his chest. He is immediately rushed to the hospital, where his condition remains critical. Ravindra was caught on the spot.
