Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Urban Development Minister Satinder Jain visited the flyover being constructed at Shastri Park and Seelampur on Friday to take stock of the progress of the construction work.
During this, the Chief Minister said that due to COVID-19, the construction of the flyover will take about one and a half months to complete. However, it was scheduled to be ready in August.
After taking stock of the under-construction Shastri Park and Seelampur flyovers, Kejriwal said that both the flyovers are almost ready. We will inaugurate this by August, which is the direct part of the Shastri Park flyover.
But both of its loops will take another month and a half to complete. The cost of construction of this flyover was around Rs 303 crore, but we hope that it will be ready for around Rs 250 crore.
He said that there has been a slight delay in the construction of the flyover due to the COVID-19. if the Coronavirus Had not arrived, it would have been ready by now.
Although the period to complete the work on this fly over was August, but now COVID will be delayed by one and a half months. The Chief Minister said that after the construction of this flyover, people will get a lot of convenience in movement.
Earlier, PWD officials placed a full report of the progress of the flyover construction in front of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Urban Development Minister Sathendra Jain.
Officials said that the construction of the flyover was being done within the stipulated time and work was going on at a rapid pace, but due to COVID-19, the construction work slowed down. However, work is now going on fast.
During this time, Kejriwal appreciated the work of the officers and instructed to complete the construction work at the earliest, so that the residents of Delhi could get ease of movement.
