Delhi: Accused of abduction and rape of minor girl, arrested in Patiala, Punjab
A 20-year-old man from Delhi’s Narela has been arrested for kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl. The victim girl has been rescued from Patiala in Punjab.
Police officials said, accused Brijesh has been arrested and a case has been registered under sections of rape under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POCSO Act.
The mother of the minor girl was reported missing on 14 June. After this, a case under Section 363 of IPC was registered at Narela Police Station.
During investigation, it was found that a youth named Brijesh who lived in the same area with his brother was also missing since the girl’s disappearance.
Based on the call detail record of the mobile phone of the suspected youth, he was reported to be in Patiala, Punjab. Subsequently, it is learned that one of the relatives of the suspect is a resident of Patiala, Punjab. After this, a team was sent to Punjab for further investigation.
Based on technical investigation and intensive search, the suspected young man was discovered to have kept the missing girl at her relative’s house in Patiala, Punjab.
In the interrogation after the girl was safely released, she accused the accused Brijesh of sexually assaulting her. After this, the police registered a case against the accused under the relevant sections and arrested him.
